The Desktop Application
The clinic system runs in a browser, and it always will. The desktop application is the same system, installed on the computer — and it can do two things a browser cannot:
- It keeps working when the internet drops. Everything recorded during the outage is kept in a file of its own on the machine and sent by itself when the line comes back. See Working Without Internet.
- It prints without the browser's dialog — no page headers, no margins to fight with.
Nothing else changes. The same screens, the same login, the same clinic data.
Where to Find It
Inside the clinic system, open the user menu (your name, top of the screen) and click Desktop Application. It is also on the Customer Support screen.
Both open the same page: clinicsadmin.com/desktop-app.
The page lists only what is ready. A build that is not published yet is shown as not available rather than as a link that fails.
Installing
Windows
Download the file, and if it arrives as a .zip, extract it first, then run the installer inside.
Windows may say the file "isn't commonly downloaded" and show a blue warning screen. That is Windows telling you the installer is not from a large publisher — not that the file is broken. Choose More info → Run anyway.
Linux
Two files are offered:

| .AppImage | You want to run it without installing anything. Make the file executable, then open it. |
Signing In
The application has no login form of its own. When you open it, it opens your browser, and you sign in there — with your password manager, Google sign-in and two-factor codes all working as usual.
The browser usually knows which clinic this is already, from your account or from the last time you used the clinic system in it, so there is nothing to type. If it asks, choose your clinic from the list. When sign-in finishes the browser hands you back to the application, already signed in.
Someone who has no ClinicsAdmin account of their own — a receptionist, who exists only inside the clinic — is handed the clinic's address, and signs in on the clinic's own screen inside the application.
You stay signed in on that computer until you sign out. Signing out clears everything the application kept on that machine.
Updates
The application checks for a new version by itself and installs it. There is nothing to download again.
When to Use the Browser Instead
For a computer that is only used occasionally, or a machine you cannot install software on, the browser is fine — the whole system is there. The only thing you lose is working during an outage.
