Doctor Mode

The clinic app shows the same screen to everybody: the desk, the accountant and the doctor all get payroll, invoices and the chart of accounts in the same menu. None of that is what a doctor needs with a patient sitting in front of them.

Doctor mode is the doctor's own view of the app. It shows today's patients instead of the dashboard, cuts the menu down to clinical work, and gives each visit a single screen to work from.

Today's patients are listed in the order your clinic's queue ordering produces — the same order the reception desk is looking at, so the two never disagree about who is next.

Only a doctor sees the switch, and only that doctor turns it on or off. Nobody — not the clinic owner, not the desk — sets it for somebody else.

The call button sits on the consultation screen too — and it works whether doctor mode is on or off. The mode decides where the button is most prominent, never whether you have it.

Where to Find It

Click an address to open that screen on your own clinic. The first click asks which clinic you are, then remembers it. Addresses holding a {id} need a specific record, so they are shown but not linked.

Turning It On and Off

Open the user menu at the top of the screen — the one carrying your name — and choose Turn on doctor mode.

Three things change at once:

  1. You land on today's patients instead of the dashboard.
  2. The menu keeps only clinical work: patients, prescriptions, appointments, sessions, drugs, questions and reports.
  3. A Doctor mode marker appears in the top bar. Clicking it takes you back to today's patients.

The same menu turns it off again, and you land back on the dashboard.

Your choice is remembered. Sign out, come back tomorrow on a different computer, and you are still in doctor mode — until you turn it off yourself.

It hides, it never blocks

This matters, so it is worth saying plainly: doctor mode changes what is in your menu, not what you are allowed to do.

A doctor who is also the clinic owner still opens invoices, payroll and the books exactly as before — by address, from a bookmark, or by turning the mode off for a minute. Nothing is taken away, and nothing new is granted either. It is a view.

Today's Patients

Your day, and nobody else's: appointments booked with you, today, in the branch you are working in.

If you work across branches, switch branch in the same user menu and the list follows you.

The visits are grouped by where each one has got to:

GroupMeans
In sessionThe patient is with you now
Next patientCalled, waiting at the door
WaitingBooked and confirmed, not called yet
SeenFinished today
Did not attendBooked, did not come

Click any patient to open their consultation screen.

Nothing booked today? The screen says so, and offers the patient list — that is the way to open somebody who walked in without an appointment.

The Consultation Screen

One screen for the minute the patient is in the room.

At the top: who they are, their age, and anything worth watching for on their file. Beside it, the time of the visit.

The visit's own actions:

ButtonDoes
Start the visitMarks the patient as in session — the desk sees it immediately
Finish the visitMarks the visit done
Did not attendFor the patient who never came in
Book a follow-upOpens booking for this patient, so the next visit is made before they leave

What you write today sits on the left: this visit's notes and the diagnosis. Save writes them against this visit, so opening the appointment again months later shows what happened in it.

Write a prescription opens the prescription form with this patient already loaded — and the prescription that comes out of it is tied to this visit too.

Recent visits sits beside it: the last few appointments and how each ended, so "what happened last time" does not need a second screen.

Underneath, the patient's whole record, one panel at a time — the same tabs the patient's own page carries: diagnoses, prescriptions, payments, appointments, documents, growth tracking, dental, physiotherapy, nutrition and body measurements. Each loads when you open it, so the screen itself stays quick.

The tabs your clinic switched off in Patient Settings are absent here too, and the ones it switched on are reachable from both screens. Doctor mode never turns on a tab the clinic turned off, and never hides one it turned on.

Things Worth Knowing

  • Unsaved notes are protected. Type notes and then reach for the doctor mode switch, and you are asked before anything is thrown away.
  • The desk sees everything you do. Starting and finishing a visit writes the same status the appointment board reads — there is no separate doctor-only record.
  • Walk-ins. Open the patient from the patient list. You get the same screen, minus the visit buttons, because there is no booking to move.
  • Nothing is sent to anyone. Turning doctor mode on or off notifies nobody and changes nothing for your colleagues.

Leaving a Form

Every form's way out — the button beside Save — now names where you came from, and goes there.

Open the prescription form from a consultation and it reads Back to the consultation; open it from a patient's record and it reads Back to the patient; open it from the prescription list and it reads Back to prescriptions, keeping whatever you had filtered. The same applies to the appointment form.

It only ever returns you to a screen inside your own clinic. If it cannot tell where you came from, it falls back to the list the form belongs to, exactly as it always did.
