Plugins

Not every clinic needs every part of the system. A dentist has no use for physiotherapy sessions; a single doctor with no staff has no use for payroll; a clinic whose accountant works outside the system has no use for a ledger.

So the optional parts are plugins: you switch on what you use, and the rest stays out of your way — out of the menu, out of the patient file, out of the settings.

The First Time You Log In

The first time you open your clinic, you are shown these once. Each switch is already set the way your specialty set it up, and flipping one saves it straight away — there is nothing to confirm. Change nothing and click Continue, and you are exactly where you would have been.

Then you are taken on to add your first clinic and its working hours.

You are never asked again. Everything on that list is on the plugins page below, and can be changed at any time.

Where to Find Them

ScreenAddress
Plugins/plugin-settings

Settings → Plugins. Each plugin is a tile: its name, its switch, and two lines saying what it adds.

Only an account with permission to edit settings can open this screen.

Finding a Plugin

The list will keep growing, so the screen gives you three ways in:

  • Sections, down the side: Specialties, Billing & accounts, Front desk & team, Public pages. Each shows how many of its plugins are on, for example 2/6. Click one to see only that section; All sections shows them all, six to a section, with Show all for the rest.
  • Search across every plugin, by name or by what it does — “salaries” finds HR. Press / to jump to the box.
  • Filters under the search: All, On, Off, Not installed, Needs upgrade. They work together with the section and the search: Specialties + Not installed shows the specialties you have never switched on.

The plugins you already use are listed at the top under In use, one click from their details. The list starts folded, showing only how many there are: click the heading to open it. It stays the way you left it.

Click a plugin's name — or anywhere on its tile except the switch — to open its details: the full description, whether it is installed, what it needs, which plugins depend on it, and a link to its own settings page once it is on.

What Each Switch Adds

PluginWhat it gives youOn for a new clinic
InvoicesRaise invoices, take payments against them, print themYes

Income & ExpenseRecord income and expenses by handNo
HREmployees, attendance, leave, contracts, payroll, departments, shiftsNo
Public pageYour own page for patients — profile, services, publicationsYes
DentalThe dental chart, courses of treatment with a priced item per tooth, and the visits that work through them — see DentistryDepends on your specialty
Physical therapySessions and session plansDepends on your specialty
NutritionNutrition plans, food list, body measurementsDepends on your specialty
PediatricsGrowth tracking, the birth record, feeding and weaning, and the guardians who bring the child — see PediatricsDepends on your specialty

InventoryThe goods your clinic holds, where they sit and what they cost — see Inventory. Needs Invoices on firstNo
EnquiriesEveryone who messaged your page or called to ask, the follow-up log, and turning the ones who book into patients — see EnquiriesNo

The four specialty plugins follow the specialty you chose when you registered. A dentist starts with Dental on and the others off, a children's clinic starts with Pediatrics on; you can change any of them at any time.

Pediatrics is the switch that used to be called Growth Tracking. A clinic that had that tab has this plugin, with every measurement in place.

Switching One On

Click the switch. The first time you turn a plugin on, the system builds what it needs — this takes a few seconds, and then the plugin's screens appear in the menu.

A tile shows at most one badge, the one that matters most:

  • Not installed yet — the plugin has never been switched on.
  • Needs … — another plugin must be on first (see below).
  • Hidden: … is off — the plugin is on, but nobody can see it, because the switch over it is off. Your doctor page while the public site is closed is the example.
  • Needs upgrade — your plan does not include it; the details link to your subscription.

Whether a plugin is Installed is in its details.

Plugins that need another one

Some plugins only make sense with another one on: Insurance and contracts needs Invoices, Inventory needs Invoices.

Switch one on while what it needs is off, and the screen asks right there: “Insurance and contracts needs Invoices. They will be switched on together.” Choose Switch on together, or Cancel. The same goes the other way: switching off a plugin that others depend on lists what goes off with it before anything changes. Nothing is deleted either way.

A clinic registered a minute ago may briefly show Not installed yet on a plugin that is on: the system is still building it in the background. Wait a moment and refresh.

The journal is always written

Journal & Chart of Accounts is the one switch that only decides whether you see the books. The ledger itself is always kept: every appointment with a price, every physiotherapy session, every payment, every expense and every stock movement is posted whether the switch is on or off. So no other plugin needs it on, and switching it off takes nothing else with it.

Switching One Off

Turning a plugin off hides it. It does not delete anything.

Turn invoicing off and your invoices are still there; the screens simply leave the menu. Turn it back on and everything is where you left it.

The ledger goes further: switching Journal & Chart of Accounts off only takes the journal and the chart of accounts out of the menu, and the Journal Entry JE-… links off your records. Entries keep being posted from your ordinary work all the while. Switch it back on after a month and that month is there, with no gap in your books.

Turning off does not stop the work

Switching Dental off hides the dental tab from the patient file. It does not delete a single treatment plan. The same is true of every plugin on this page.

Who Can Change These

Changing a plugin changes the system for everybody in the clinic, not just for you. That is why the screen needs settings permission — see Staff and Roles.
