Notifications

The bell in the top bar is your inbox. It counts what you have not read yet, it holds what happened while you were with a patient, and it is the same on every screen.

Anything the system needs to tell you personally lands there. Today that is a doctor calling you; whatever gets added later arrives in the same place, so there is one thing to look at rather than a new badge per feature.

Where to Find It

The full list/notifications

The bell sits between the day's appointment counter and your own name. The appointment counter is the calendar icon beside it — done out of booked for today — and it still opens today's appointments.

The dropdown

Click the bell. You get the twelve most recent, newest first, each with who it is from, what it says and how long ago.

Unread ones are tinted; read ones are plain. The number on the bell counts every unread notification you have, not just the twelve on show — so a badge saying 30 with twelve rows under it is telling the truth.

At the bottom, All notifications opens the full list.

Marking read, and dismissing

These are two different acts and the app keeps them apart on purpose.

What it does
Mark as read (✓)Says I have seen this. The notification stays in the list, plain instead of tinted, and the bell's number drops by one.
Dismiss (✕)Says I am done with this. The row is deleted and does not come back.

Reading a notification that points somewhere — click the text itself — marks it read and takes you there in one move.

Mark all as read at the top of the dropdown clears the badge in one click without deleting anything.

The full list

All notifications shows everything, twenty-five to a page, with the same two buttons on every row.

Two views:

  • All notifications — everything you still have.
  • Unread — only what you have not seen, with the count on the tab.

Clear read at the top deletes the ones you have already read and keeps every unread one. It asks first, and it says exactly that — clearing an inbox should never be how a message you never saw disappears.

Calls in the inbox

A doctor calling you arrives two ways at once, and they are not duplicates:

  • The banner with the tone is the alert. It stays on your screen until somebody deals with it, and it is where you tap On my way.
  • The notification is the record. It is what tells you a call came while you were signed out, or while you were on the phone.

Answering the call from the banner marks its notification read for you automatically — the bell does not go on claiming something is waiting when you have already walked to the room.

See Calling the Assistant for the calling side of it.

Things worth knowing

  • The inbox is yours alone. Nobody can read, mark or dismiss anything in yours, and you cannot see anyone else's — not even an administrator.
  • It arrives without a refresh if you have the app open — the same live connection the calls use.
  • Nothing is sent to your phone. This is a bell inside the app: no SMS, no WhatsApp, no email.
  • Muting the call sound does not touch this. A muted assistant still gets the banner, still gets the notification, and loses only the tone.
